We're really looking forward to working with you on this. From our conversation it's clear that Mentmore has a brilliant story to tell - and one that not many financial planners can tell in the same way.

Your credentials and experience are impressive, but it's also in the team you've built, the relationships you've maintained, and the simple fact that clients stay with you for years and send everyone they know your way.

The goal is to make a video that captures all of that - not in a corporate, salesy way, but in a way that feels honest and human. So that when someone lands on your website, they feel like they already know you a little bit before they've even picked up the phone.

OBJECTIVES.

  • Build trust with potential clients before they've even met you

  • Show the person behind the business - your background, your approach, your team

  • Communicate the value of taking financial advice without it feeling like a sales pitch

  • Give people who've been referred to you something to watch that makes them feel confident they're in the right place

  • Stand out from the larger, more corporate practices - personal, experienced, approachable

  • Help close the gap between someone finding you and someone deciding to work with you

APPROACH.

The film should feel like an honest conversation with someone who really knows what they're doing. Warm and personal, not a corporate ad or the fast-paced videos you see from younger financial brands. Something quieter and more considered.

We'll film in your office — somewhere that feels settled and professional without being cold. Clean, well-lit, the kind of environment that feels established without having to announce it.

We'll build the interview questions together in advance, shaped to let the right things come out naturally. Your background, what brought you from fund management to running your own practice, what the personal side of this work means to you. That story is far more compelling than a list of credentials — and it's how the experience and qualifications land properly.

Working on the questions together beforehand also gives us the chance to make sure everything sits within your FCA and SJP guidelines before anyone's on camera. Nothing gets said on the day that hasn't already been checked.

Alongside the interviews we'll capture the everyday life of the office — footage that runs underneath your words and makes everything feel real and lived-in. Things like:

  • You at your desk, on a call, in a meeting

  • The team working together

  • A mock client meeting or consultation

  • The details of the space — the office, the light, the environment

For the client testimonials we'd suggest filming at their home rather than the office. It's a warmer, more personal setting — and it opens up the possibility of capturing simple moments around it. Someone tending to their garden, going for a walk, enjoying their morning. Nothing staged, just quiet moments that speak to what good financial planning actually gives people — peace of mind, time, freedom.

This video is a useful reference for the warmth and clarity that can come from a direct-to-camera approach, where the speaker communicates openly about their work and values. It demonstrates how a single voice can build trust and make complex ideas feel accessible.

For Mentmore, we would take inspiration from that sense of approachability and honesty, while adapting the visual style to feel more established, calm and refined. Rather than a coloured studio backdrop, interviews would take place within the Mentmore environment, using natural light and thoughtful framing to create a more grounded and authentic setting. The pacing would be slightly slower and more considered, with supporting footage of the team and office helping to reinforce the sense of experience, professionalism and long-term client relationships.
